| The health and quality management
at Hülsenberger Zuchtschweine is based on legal
and internal requirements:
In practical terms this means:
Conditions
Potential rearing and multiplier farms must meet
a defined requirement profile.
Health
- Conduct of internal and external animal
health, production and hygiene checks.
- Regular clinical, serological, microbiological
and parasitological examinations.
- Additional health checks and collection
of nose swabs, blood and faecal samples by veterinarians
from the competent regional Pig Health Service
under the animal health monitoring scheme.
- Veterinary supervision of the herd by
the farm’s veterinarian is mandatory.
- In the event of irregularities and suspected
disease, movement restrictions will be imposed.
QA certification
All Hülsenberg multipliers and rearing farms
are QA certified.
Hygiene
Mandatory provisions concerning personal, production,
animal and transport hygiene, biosecurity measures
for the protection of production premises and regulations
on fodder and feeding hygiene are in force.
Vaccination programmes
As well as standard vaccinations (combined erysipelas/parvo),
vaccination concepts relevant to the farm profile,
regional factors and the epidemiological situation
are implemented.
Animal transports
Animals are classified in accordance with the Livestock
Movement Order. Special transports adhere to the
hierarchical one-way traffic system based on the
production pyramid (nucleus – multiplier – piglet
producer) and the health status of the farms. Vehicles
are cleaned and disinfected in purpose-built facilities.
Use of sperm and production organisation
The nucleus and multiplier farms use only sperm from
the Hülsenberg boar station. Production in multiplier
and rearing farms follows a production cyclogram.
| Analysis and documentation
In order to ensure compliance with the standards,
health-related data and the results of health
monitoring are recorded and analysed. Recall
and production controls are performed with
reference to Sow Planner data.
